Worrals

Story: Echoes
Author: agapi42
Rating: All Ages
Author's summary: It slips away, hides in the cold and the white and the dark. (Spoilers for 'The Stolen Earth'.)
Characters/Pairings: Harriet Jones/Rose Tyler
Warnings: none
Word Count: 633

Recced because: This is just absolutely gorgeous: a possible snippet of time post-The Stolen Earth, frozen in an afterlife that may or may not be real. Harriet is beautifully drawn, and the story crackles with vivid description while also maintaining a dreamy, gauzy feel. For such a small bite of a story it's incredibly satisfying, and the last two lines are just dynamite.

Story: Timepiece
Author: LizBee
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 5,485
Author's Summary: Unscrupulous temporal engineers and a major breach in the laws of time lead Rose Tyler and the first Romana to join forces to rescue the Doctor. Both of him.
Characters/Pairings: Romana I, Rose, Four, Ten
Warnings: None

Recced because: This is a delightful character study – sure, there's a plot about rescuing the Doctor before he accidentally gets erased from time, but it's completely secondary to the interactions between Rose and Romana. Romana is her usual clever and competent self, but still needs Rose's human ingenuity to save them from a scrape or two on their way to locating their wayward traveling companions. The dialogue sparkles – lizbee always does a beautiful job writing Romana – and as I commented on her journal when she posted this, this story made me miss Romana I.

Author's Summary: The Rani's back in business, the Master's not quite dead after all, and it's all Lucy Saxon's fault.

Recced because: Lucy hooks up with a fobwatched Rani, the Doctor babbles a bit, and the Master boogies to the KLF. What's not to love?
