Rating: All Ages
Author's summary: They talk under a dark sky and know it's not forever.
Characters/Pairings: Romana II/Susan
Warnings: none
Word Count: 872

Recced because: This is another tiny story that manages to be packed tight with ideas, images, and beautiful characterization. It's a gorgeous pairing, and the voices and mood are just right. Once a year, in the cold, the two women meet: their discussions about the past, the future, and all the possibilities in between illuminate each character in an understated but very moving way. It's a lovely piece of work.

Story: Destiny Can Wait
Author: Dune
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 749
Author's Summary: Seven times Jack met the Endless.
Characters/Pairings: Jack, the Endless, Ten
Warnings: None

Recced because: As with the previous crossover I recced this week, "Destiny Can Wait" is very true to its characters; in this case, the Endless from Neil Gaiman's Sandman series, anthropomorphized representations of Death, Dream, Destruction, Destiny, Despair, Desire, and Delirium. The story is a short set of drabbles, touching on Jack's encounters with all seven siblings, and each vignette has the dreamy, melancholy quality that marks so much of the Sandman series. These are beautifully written pieces, worth reading even if you've never picked up any of the Gaiman graphic novels ... and if you haven't, I hope you'll consider doing so after this story.
