Story: The Mascot
Author: Darkerchild
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 1304
Author's summary: A compelling story about the love which exists between man and stuffed panda.
Characters/Pairings: Steven Taylor/Hi-Fi
Warnings: Spoilers for The Chase (if you can still call something spoilers after forty years.) Implied sexual relations with an inanimate object.

Recced because: Despite the cracked-out premise (for which you may blame the kinkmeme), this is easily one of the best stories I've read in recent months. It's rare to find fic featuring Steven in the first place—to find it and have it be fic of such imagination and quality is an unexpected pleasure. Darkerchild's fic excels both as character study and in worldbuilding: her version of Earth a hundred years after The Dalek Invasion of Earth is all too real in its dysfunctionality. Steven's experiences under Mechanoid captivity and his descent into madness are similarly well-portrayed. This is an excellent, imaginative fic and I can't recommend it enough.

It's the epic saga of the love between a man and his stuffed panda. How can you not love something like that?

Story:  Wedding Blues
Author:  settiai
Rating:  All Ages
Word Count:  611
Author's Summary: "Just how many people are you married to?"
Characters/Pairings: Ten/Mickey
Warnings:  crack!

Recced because:  Ten and Mickey have to get married in order to find Rose on alien planet.  It's a short and very silly fic, just the thing for a Monday.  The characters' voices are perfect.  It's crackfic, yet strangely plausible.  Read it, smile, and review.

Anyway, onwards!

Story: Four Times Donna Thought the Doctor was Just Like Any Other Bloke and One Time She Didn't

Author's Summary: Donna was just too practical to pretend he was an omniscient god. Really, he was just another bloke after all.

Recced because: It may be short, but it provides excellent insight into Donna and her friendship with Ten. Gorgeous, gorgeous character study.
