Recced because: Well, it is no secret (I'm sure!) how much I love this author's work! I love the descriptions, imagery and the way I can see the Doctor (and the Companions!) through her eyes. She always brings her best to the table with every word and sentence - and this is seriously no exception! This fiction describes the Companions (through them, of them) with the image of the elements - and it is extraordinary how she just nails them perfectly...and gives us an ending that is unexpected - and yet makes total sense in the aftermath of the rest of the fiction. I'm not giving this one away - this is definitely (like most of her works!) a Must-Read! Though a little taste to get one started never hurts, yes?

It can be lonely floating above the world and watching their lives go by. To be extraordinary means making sacrifices, and sometimes he longs for the life he left behind so long ago. Other days, he runs headlong into danger, holding the hand of his latest companion, and knowing without doubt that he made the right choice.

They will fade, but for now —

It is good to have a family again.

Go, read, enjoy - and please let her know how much her fiction rocks! I'm sure she will appreciate the Love!
